my attempt at poetry :)

 That feeling of you and I

You and I
we had never met
I had never seen you
that feeling
and I know you used to stare across the room
and I would pretend not to notice
not to let you see my feelings
that feeling

You and I
we were best friends
you were my best friend
that feeling
and I know I was yours too
we did crazy things
some we shouldn't have with those feelings
that feeling

You and I
You told me you loved me
I couldn't say it back
that feeling
I know you tried to hold my hand
I held yours back
and I tried to hide my feelings
that feeling

You and I
We fell in love
I really loved you
That feeling
I know you loved me too
We were going to get married
have a family
and live happily ever after with those feelings
that feeling

You and I
we had something special
it was something beautiful
that feeling
and I know you felt it too
they write books, music, movies
they write history with that kind of feeling
that feeling

You and I
you broke my heart
I never hurt so much
that feeling
and I know you don't care
but I still do
you cant just erase those feelings
that feeling

You and I
there is no more us
and there never will be again
that feeling
I know it used to be there
I don't remember what it was
and I've learned to live without those feelings
that feeling
